We’re a homeschooling family. Like a lot of parents, we found that choosing curriculum is genuinely hard — and most of the “best curriculum” lists online are ad-dense and affiliate-driven. Project Homeschool is the honest tool, matched to your family, we wished we’d had.

Why we built this

When we were choosing curriculum for our own kids, the “research” meant sorting through Facebook groups, random Reddit threads, and scattered online reviews — trying to piece together which program actually fits your child, your prep capacity, your worldview, and your budget. And after using a few that didn’t work for us, we knew exactly how much a wrong pick costs in money, time, and morale.

We kept wishing someone had done the legwork honestly — gathered what real parents say, laid out the trade-offs, and ranked curricula by situation instead of crowning one universal winner. No one had. So we built it, for families like ours.

What we are — and what we’re not

We’re honest about our seat at the table: we’re homeschool parentswho built a rigorous research and decision tool — not curriculum publishers, not certified teachers selling a method. That’s the point. Our judgment comes from a transparent process you can inspect, not from claiming an authority we don’t have:

• We rank by situation — best for whom, under what conditions — and gate out curricula that don’t fit (a science program never shows up on the math page; a faith-integrated program never tops the secular page).
• We summarize what real parents say in our own words, attributed to its sources — we never copy review text.
• We show our confidence honestly — a research-based fit band, and a plain “not enough verified reviews yet” when that’s the truth.
• We’re building a body of verified first-party reviews from real homeschool parents, which carry more and more weight as they grow.

The promise that makes it work
